When
we were together my heart was filled with pride
And when we went for walk's together, she stayed close by my side
She never wanted more than love,
and it was plain to see
She never ever wanted much in life... but she always wanted me
She lay there by the fireside
for hours upon end
And followed me, from room to room a true and faithful friend
Two meals a day and there she lay, and it was plain to see
She never ever wanted much in life... but she always wanted me
By the back door of the
kitchen she'd wait if I went away
So patient and obedient although an hour seemed a day
How she jumped for joy when I came back, and it was plain to see
She never ever wanted much in life... but she always wanted me
And when we played she kept
looking back to see if I was there
Only ever wanting me to show a little love and care
I'll never forget what she meant to me, 'cause it was plain to see
She never ever wanted much in life...but she always wanted me
